Why Hello!
Lucy is a Midlands-based movement director, Intimacy Director, choreographer and teacher who has a background in performance. She grew up as a dancer training in various styles including Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, Jazz and Modern Dance, she competed and trained through the International Dance Teachers Association syllabus and a love of performing and storytelling grew through her training.

Her attention then focused on acting and she completed her undergraduate degree in acting at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where she then went on to be a professional dancer and actor performing in various productions including live theatre, pantomime, theatre in education, short films and music videos. Lucy found her way into movement through physical theatre. She loved the way that acting and movement could be combined to create a more embodied storytelling experience, and found herself moving more into movement directing, devising and facilitation. She completed her Masters degree in Movement Directing and Teaching in 2020 at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

As a creator she is inspired by the everyday and encounters with people from all walks of life. She is especially interested in movement direction and intimacy within the world of acting, and how to support actors from training to the professional world through their embodied understanding. Her practice is based around consent and inclusivity ensuring everyone is able to access the work in a comfortable and respectful manner for all.
